A great show from the beginning. all the cast are fantasic. BUT get rid of this Red John B@#:*$t. it really devalues the show. it what will destroy it.

Why would you take it off, just to put another dumb reality show on what has this world come to.

My husband and I enjoy The Mentalist. Keep it on!! However, I would like to see some light shed on the set of CBI. Too dark!! There isn’t an electric shortage, is there?

I saw this and voted many timnes for it NOT to end. So far, the poll results say it should stay! While I would love to see Simon have a movie career beyond The Mentalist, I would miss him on TV. Plus he gets more money the longer the show is on, lol!

I started watching this season. Im a fan of The Closer/Major Crimes. They always put a crappy show on after that one, and I usually give it a try for a few weeks before giving up. This season they put The Mentalist after Major Crimes. I didnt know they were reruns, and watched it. Fell in love with the show. I bought all the previous seasons and watched them, now am eager every Sunday for a new episode! I got my son and daughter-in-law hooked on the show, my mom, my husband, and two of my friends! We are all new to it this season. I bet there are other Major Crimes fans that have a similar story to share!

Much as I enjoy seeing SB on TV I believe this show has run its course. It really needs a large dose of mystery or excitement like the earlier episodes.

How can TV Guide say the ratings are down? The show is doing very well in its Sunday time slot, in spite of CBS lack of advertising for the show, and the awful hiatuses the fans of the show were put through. TV Guide is mistaken, and although I agree the Red John thing is becoming tiresome, as well as more and more unbelievable the amount of influence a simple serial killer can have, it’s still a good show to watch. Simon Baker and Robin Tunney are the main two reasons I watch the show.

the ratings have tumbled on Sunday night because IT IS ON SUNDAY NIGHT at 10:00 Every football game throws it late, and many other specials do the same.People that have to go to work the next a:m rarely watch an hour long show that that starts at 10:45 as it sometimes does. I am retired so it doesn’t effect me but it does many people I know.
Catch Red John and move on…Patrick Jan can do well without that chase. The show is very good, but people are tired of chasing Red John.

Please do not cancel the mentalist;it would be an even bigger mistake than canceling the guardian. This is my favorite show on tv, I have bought all the previous seasons and will purchase the current season when it is finished. I have purchased all DVDs that has Simon Baker in them even when his character has only a small part.I know one day he be one of the biggest stars on tv or in the movies. In addition to all that he is the best-looking man I have seen on my tv screen in many a day ‘maybe ever’
