With a swag of Aussies nominated for Sunday’s Golden Globes many are expected to appear at the celebratory G’Day events leading up the awards.

GG nominees Hugh Jackman and Glenn Close will join Olivia Newton-John at the 10th Anniversary 2013 G’DAY USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala on Saturday night as they present the Australian Icon award to Paul Hogan, the Excellence in Film & Television award to actress Rose Byrne and the Goodwill Ambassador award to John Travolta.

The gala is part of the multi-city G’Day USA Australia Week program that showcases Australian capabilities in the USA with Australian performers Jessica Mauboy, Jack Vidgen and David Campbell joining acclaimed didgeridoo player William Barton to entertain guests.

Past honourees including Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, Mel Gibson, Toni Colette, Keith Urban, Anthony LaPaglia, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, Air Supply and Luc Longley will attend and be acknowledged as part of the evening’s celebration of a decade of G’Day USA.

Tonight’s party, hosted by Qantas expects to see Chris Hemsworth in the audience while Keith Urban will perform, acoustically.

On Thursday, Swisse who already boast Nicole Kidman as an international ambassador for the vitamin brand, will be joined by a new international ambassador who will be announced at a global launch.

Saturday’s event will be attended by young Aussie actor Callan McAuliffe who has just been cast as the lead in thriller The Reckoning which is filming in WA next month. The 17-year-old is set for big things with his portrayal as the young Gatsby in Baz Lurhmann’s The Great Gatsby due out in May.

Elle Macpherson and Richard Wilkins will co-host the main event with celebrity chef Curtis Stone preparing an Australian-inspired multi-course dinner.

The sold out Black Tie Gala for 1000 guests provides a platform for both Australian talent and for Australian companies wanting to showcase their products to a large American audience, developing new business opportunities and expanding existing relationships in Australia and the United States.
